On a picturesque Thanksgiving weekend, Abby and Kyle celebrated their union at Lago, nestled by Dows Lake, where the autumn leaves set a vibrant backdrop. As an Ottawa wedding photographer, capturing their day amidst such natural beauty and joyful atmosphere was truly special.

Their wedding day started with a unique twist; Kyle was blindfolded on the bus to ensure their first look was a surprise. Outside the scenic Lago, renowned for its natural light and central location, the blindfold was removed. Kyle’s first sight of Abby was magical, capturing the essence of their love against the breathtaking views of Dows Lake and the Dominion Arboretum.

Post-first look, we took advantage of the beautiful surroundings at the Dominion Arboretum. The area, famous for its springtime blooms, provided a stunning setting for wedding party photos, even in the fall, thanks to its year-round scenic beauty.

The ceremony, held on Lago’s terrace, was intimate and beautifully officiated by Abby’s family friend, Paul. Adding a personal touch, Abby’s grandparents were invited to act as witnesses during the signing, creating memorable moments filled with smiles and happy tears.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour with live music, surrounded by Lago’s elegant decor and coordination. The reception was highlighted by heartfelt speeches that underscored the deep connection Abby and Kyle share. Their first dance was lively and full of laughter, igniting a night of dancing that had every guest on the dance floor – a hallmark of a truly joyous Lago wedding celebration.
